Yes, we're now officially at the half-way point of 2018 and while we're still in blockbuster season, there's still a heckin' load of movies still to come in the year.

We've already counted down the best and the worst of the year so far - so it seems only right we go through the rest of the year to pick out what we're looking ahead to. With that in mind, get your calendar out and start planning as we've got your cinema trips planned for the rest of year. We've arranged them in no particular beyond why we're excited for them and when you'll get to see them here in Ireland.

Let's kick it off with...

'Halloween'

When's it out? October 19th

Why are we excited? Jamie Lee Curtis back as Laurie Storde, John Carpenter is returning as executive producer with Blumhouse. That trailer, that music.

'The Predator'

When's it out? September 14th

Why are we excited? Shane Black of 'Iron Man 3' and 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' fame is reuniting with Fred Dekker of 'Monster Squad' fame. Also, IT'S THE PREDATOR.

'First Man'

When's out? November 5th

Why are we excited? Damien Chazelle, director of 'La La Land' and 'Whiplash' takes on Apollo 11. Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy are a c t i n g and that trailer makes it look immense. That cinematography, like.

'Suspiria'

When's it out? November 2nd

Why are we excited? Do you like being utterly disturbed and grossed out? How about the fact that it made Quentin Tarantino cry and Chloe Moretz compared it as the closest thing to 'The Shining'? What about that curved thingy? How about Thom Yorke of Radiohead is doing the soundtrack?

'The Girl In The Spider's Web'

When's it out? November 9th

Why are we excited? 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' deserved a sequel that it never got, so this is as close as we're going to get. Plus, Claire Foy's great in anything.

'Black 47'

When's it out? September 7th

Why are we excited? It's the first film that has ever dealt with the Great Hunger, and it's arguably the first Irish Western as well.

'BlackkKlansman'

When's it out? August 24th

Why are we excited? Spike Lee does '70s cop-caper-comedy with oodles of on-the-nose racial satire with Adam Driver and Topher Grace as the Trump-supporting former Grand Dragon of the KKK, David Duke. Also, the whole thing is so nuts - and it's all true.

'Widows'

When's it out? November 9th

Why are we excited? The visionary talent of 'Shame' and '12 Years A Slave' doing a heist thriller. Also, that cast is insane.

'Mary, Queen Of Scots'

When's it out? September 14th

Why are we excited? Mandatory Patriotic Recognition Of Saoirse Ronan aside, who doesn't enjoy costume dramas? Also, Margot Robbie's doing an English accent - so that'll be fun.

'The Happytime Murders'

When's it out? August 24th

Why are we excited? There's a scene where a muppet ejaculates silly-string for about two minutes. Next.

'Aquaman'

When's it out? December 21st

Why are we excited? After the so-so 'Justice League' and the dire 'Suicide Squad', the DC Expanded Universe needs a win. Let's hope this is it.

'Upgrade'

When's it out? August 31st

Why are we excited? There's a man in the trailer who has a gun implanted in his hands, so that's enough reason for us. We also want to take credit for coming up with the alternate title of 'TRON WICK' for it. Did we mention the gun hand thing? Better mention it again. There's a guy with a gun INSIDE HIS HAND.

'Bumblebee'

When's it out? December 26th

Why are we excited? A good 'Transformers' movie? Set in the '80s? With John Cena? It's more likely than you think.

'Mary Poppins Returns'

When's it out? December 21st

Why are we excited? MARY POPPINS Y'ALL!
