Katy Perry and Russell Brand finalise divorce
09 February 2012Katy Perry and Russell Brand have finalised their divorce.
Superior Court Judge Marc Marmaro signed the judgement yesterday (08.02.12) after the former couple submitted paperwork documenting the details of their settlement - which Katy signed with a smiley face.
Under the agreement, the 'Firework' singer will get back her maiden name, Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, while Russell - who filed for divorce on December 30 citing 'irreconcilable differences' - has waived his right to a portion of her wealth - estimated to be in the region of £45million.
Their divorce will not become legal until July 14 as Californian law requires separated couples to wait at least six months after filing before their split is made official.
In court documents filed Tuesday (07.02.12) and obtained by RadarOnline.com, the former couple said they, 'have entered into a comprehensive written settlement of all issues, including, without limitation, with respect to the property to be confirmed or assigned to each party.'
In their 14 months as man and wife they are believed to have bought four properties in California, New York and London, totalling around £10million, and also shared a cat called Krusty.
