Pamela Anderson: Fair Play or Put it Away?
Behold Pammy, in all her glory, at Richie Rich's New York Fashion Week show. Why he wheeled out the 41-year-old mother of two in a bejewelled, gold lame swimsuit is obvious. But the real question is, is she doing us a favour by shaking herself up and down a runway, or is she just scaring the beejesus out of us? Is she somehow empowering middle-aged mothers, or is she just making the majority feel inadequate? Is she adding to her legacy of "work", or starting to taint her image, a la Madonna? There's no denying she looks cracking in some shots, while in others, a little unnerving. And why do we find it as such? For someone fabled as having a high level of intelligence (Vivienne Westwood has gone on record to say she finds her highly inspiring company), why wouldn't you want to portray yourself in such a way? Does she get off on playing dumb? If so, how does that impact on the female gender? Or is she simply just having a laugh?
Apologies, I'm feeling very confused right now and need some opinions outside my marginally aroused/envious/pitying/screaming brain. Given the feedback on other sites, the general consensus isn't favourable. What say you?

I also say fair play ( unlike richie rich to whom I say go away) I think the v ast majority of people know that there is very little natural about her body.Comparing yourself to a celebrity is like comparing yourselfto a statue- its not real is created. She can still just about get away with it. Any longer it its going to get a bit worrying ( especially for her kids)

rank...doesnt do for me it all....a woman in so little clothing should arouse a mans appetite...doesnt do it for me...in fact quite the opposite....id need both of the olsen twins to overcome such shocking scenes...about 10 and a half years past her best before date.

I say fair play. I mean, in this day and age when people are encouraging "warts and all" beauty, and encouraging people not to expect to be as "perfect" as celebs look, it's nice to see someone who has had a lot of surgery show her age and who that KNOWS that her body is ravaged but flaunts it anyways because she feels good about herself. You don't have to look like a perfectly formed Barbie doll to feel beautiful so *applauds* fair play :-)
