Stinging Words From Simon Cowell

Stinging Words From Simon Cowell

09 March 2010

It would seem that a mini war of words is brewing between Sting and Simon Cowell. You may remember that last November Sting made no attempt to hide his disdain for Cowell's shows American Idol and The X-Factor and was quoted as calling them "televised karaoke" and "preposterous". Well it may have taken some time but Simon Cowell has finally thought of a comeback for Sting a couple of months after the initial incident.

"First of all, anybody who at the age of 60 calls himself Sting is an idiot. I find those kind of people.... who come from quite humble beginnings and they're (now) living in these stately homes, professing to know everything about everything in the world, and what the contestants may or may not feel...They can say that because they've got everything they want in their lives, but what they're really saying is anybody else who needs a shot shouldn't be allowed to do it", said Cowell from his Hollywood Mansion.

What will Sting say next? You can bet that we haven't heard the last of this.

Sting is a musical icon and genius. Cowell manufactures sickening pop clones, spewing a couple of "stars" every year, that just so happen to be bereft of any musical talent. But of course, they have the X Factor. Alexandra Burke anyone?? Joe Mc Eldry?? Id like to see them last as long as Sting. Give it five years, and this column will be gleefully reporting on their desperate fame whore Z list antics. Which we will read, laugh at, and wonder what they were ever famous for.
