Sir Paul McCartney got married to what appears to be Kate Middleton's future self on what would've been John Lennon's 71st birthday. I'm probably the only person who thinks that's a bit weird. Really, it's a lovely thing - especially if any of Lennon's relatives had been at the wedding.
But back to the loveliness. The now Lady Nancy (who's also an heiress, hence why Paul didn't bother with a prenup this time around) wore a simple number designed by her new daughter-in-law, Stella.
After the simple ceremony in the same registry office in which Paul married Linda in 1969, guests then got on down at the afters in McCartney's London home. Said guests included McCartney offspring, James (who time isn't being too kind to) and Mary, alongside Barbara Walters, Ringo Starr (who wished the happy couple "peace and love"), Jools Holland, Ronnie Wood, Sir David Frost, Sharleen Spiteri, Kate Moss, Tracey Emin, and Jeff Beck.
Those lucky devils got to enjoy Mark Ronson spin some choons, and Sir Paul serenading wife number 3 with a song penned specially for the occasion, while they tucked into "a green salad starter followed by vegetarian lasagne." There was also salmon and truffle risotto, so it wasn't a totally bland affair.
When asked how he was feeling on his way to the reception, Paul said: "Terrific, thank you - I feel married. I feel absolutely wonderful."
Honestly, it is heartening to hear Mills didn't put him off.
