Fresh off the back of news that Pat ButcherEvans is to meet her maker thanks to a blazing inferno (mainly centred around the B&B) on Christmas day, we have been furnished with the Inside Soap Awards nominations. Has 63-year-old Pam St Clement been nominated for anything after her 25 years on EastEnders? Not by the looks of things.

Both Pauline Quirke and Danny Miller have been nominated for their assisted suicide storyline in Emmerdale. Oh, here's some good news, Bill Tarmey's been nominated for "Best Exit" for his death on Corrie last year (if Lacey Turner's exit wins that's a crime), so maybe there'll be glimmer of hope for Pam next year.

The awards, voted for by readers of Inside Soap, will be doled out in London on September 26th. Readers still harbouring an urge to vote can do so at insidesoap.co.uk.

To see last year's winners and red carpet gallery, shimmy over here. Since today isn't exactly rife with news, I'm going to highlight who should win (not necessarily who will win, mind) in italics.
