Amy Winehouse - The Latest
25 July 2011And so it begins. The postmortem has yet to be carried out on Amy Winehouse's body, (that's happening this morning) but still, the speculative and somewhat sensationalist news stories relating to her untimely death have begun to pour in, saturating column inches the world over. While the accuracy of such news is as of yet debatable, so as to keep you in the loop, here be the gist of what's being said:
According to The Sun this morning, police are fearing that Miss Winehouse may have been dead for up to six hours before her body was discovered lying in bed in her Camden home at 4pm by her flatmate Tyler James. They're reporting that the 27 year old star last spoke to her security team at 10am on Saturday. Medics concluded that she'd been dead several hours prior to their arrival. Amy had seen her doctor on Friday night who was "happy with her condition". When he left Amy on Friday night the doctor had no cause for worry and police sources are confident that there were no signs of drugs in her house.
Contrary to this, it has been reported by numerous sources that just last week Amy had had a furious row with currrent boyfriend Reg Traviss after he caught her phoning jailed ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. Following this alleged argument, Amy reportedly took herself on a 36-hour whisky, cocaine and heroin bender.
As star-crossed lovers with more ups and downs than any other celebrity couple, Blake is incurably grief-stricken. Fielder-Civil collapsed on Saturday afternoon when prison officials called him from his cell to break the shattering news. The pop sensations' jailed ex-husband broke down in tears after learning of her death, and admitted yesterday: "I'm beyond inconsolable ... my tears won't dry." Yesterday Blake's mother, Georgette, confirmed Amy had been back in contact with her ex-husband, describing the duo as "soulmates".
It has also surfaced that the tragic star actually forecast her own death just last year, telling friends she "knew" she would join the 27 Club – a list of iconic artists to die aged just 27. According to The Mirror, last night Amy's ex-housemate and long-term friend, hairdresser Alex Foden – the man behind her trademark beehive – said "Amy always told me she thought she'd become a member of the 27 Club...It is heart-breaking that she appears to have gone through with her plans. Amy knew her limits – I truly believe she knew this final binge might kill her...it still hasn't sunk in that the world has lost this unbelievable talent."
Unusual for the UK, Winehouse burial is likely to take place as soon as tomorrow in front of close family and friends, after which details of her £36million will is to be revealed.
It's also been speculated that a substantial proportion of Amy's will may be going to a cats home. A source revealed "Amy often claimed she wanted to leave all her money to a cats' home as an ultimate sign of rebellion. Realistically, she probably ensured her family will be taken care of for life, and Blake is likely to be mentioned in her will."

Its so sad, as you say Aine a waste. Some of the media reporting along with things I've seen on Facebook have been disgusting, the girls not even buried yet. Russel Brand has risen in my estimation, his words were lovely and very true (and sad). RIP Amy

it's a pity 'cos she died for her vices. why do people have to drink so much and be drug-addicts? we can't understand.
