Tulisa Contostavlos says Cheryl Cole helped her through her sex tape ordeal.

The 'Young' hitmaker revealed the 'Call My Name' singer sent her a 'really nice text' offering the N-Dubz singer support after X-rated footage of her performing a sex act on ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards was released online last month.

She said: 'I've been in touch with Cheryl. I actually had a really nice text from her after my 'hoo-hah' a couple of weeks ago, offering her support.'

But Tulisa insists Cheryl is still 'the nation's sweetheart', even though she has been given the title since replacing the Girls Aloud singer on 'The X Factor' judging panel.

She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'When people say I'm the new 'nation's sweetheart' I'm like, 'No! That role will always belong to Cheryl!' I've become the nation's little rebel.'

Earlier this week, Tulisa - who is dating 'Skins' actor Jack O'Connell - saw off competition from Cheryl to top the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World list, and she admitted winning the accolade has given her a 'confidence boost'.

She said: 'Thank you so much for voting for me. It's a true honour and definitely a lovely confidence boost. I'm proud of me and I am who I am. I know that I'm marmite and I wouldn't wanna be anything less or anything more, I'm just myself.'
