Niall Horan admits his first kiss was very nerve-wracking.

The One Direction singer - who is currently single - says he was very scared when he puckered up for his first smooch but now says he can't even remember it.

He recalled: ''I was about 11 or 12 and it was my best friend's French foreign exchange student. I don't really remember it, but I know I was really nervous.''

Since joining One Direction, Niall, 18, has become a hit with women all over the world but admits he is sometimes shocked by what they write on their posters when they come to see the band perform.

He told Top of the Pops magazine: ''There were some very dirty ones - I won't even say. You wouldn't believe it. To think that people are taking the time to write that on posters , it's crazy!''

While he is happy being single, Niall says he knows what he likes in a girl, revealing: ''I go straight for eyes, all day, every day! I like eyes that have a cheeky sparkle.''
