Giuliana Rancic shared heartbreak to help fans

Giuliana Rancic decided to share her personal struggles in order to help others.

The E! News presenter discovered she had breast cancer while undergoing fertility treatment after struggling to conceive and Giuliana says she shared her story on her reality TV show 'Giuliana & Bill' because she hoped it would help her fans.

The star, who is married to entrepreneur Bill Rancic, told ITV 1's 'Lorraine': ''I was at the lowest - I'd just been diagnosed with breast cancer, I'd been trying to have a baby for four years and I think sometimes you have to get to your darkest point in life and then the brightest light just appears and that's when the good news come.''

Giuliana and Bill are now expecting a baby via surrogate and couldn't be happier.

She added: ''I didn't think that I was going to have trouble having a baby and get breast cancer? I didn't think I was going to have to face these things. And so when I did, I thought 'Why don't we share these stories because they can help people?'

''Just when you think it's never going to happen, it happens.''
