It would seem the world is either having babies (I got donated my first Dart seat this morning, thanking you lovely lady. Proves how much I'm showing at 16 weeks. I'm going to be like a baby elephant come week 40…) or getting married. Or, if you're Peaches Geldof, having babies, propelling them from their prams while out for a stroll; taking to Twitter to blame Boris Johnson for the state of London's pavements as opposed to the fact that one of her hands was clamped to her mobile for the duration (although she did employ her right shoulder to maintain her phone conversation at one point); and then getting married.

Anyway, she got married to the father of wee Astala, Tom Cohen, on Saturday at the St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Davington, Kent, Southern England, the village where she was raised. The church has special significance for Peaches' family as it is where her mother, the late Paula Yates, and da Bob Geldof, had their wedding blessed after earlier marrying in Las Vegas in 1986. The church is also where Paula's funeral was held in 2000.

On Friday voiced her excitement for the forthcoming nuptials, tweeting: "Very soon my engagement ring will have a wedding band under it! SO excited- my last few days of not being a wife!!!! (sic)."

The marriage is a second for Peaches, after her brief marriage to American musician Max Drummey, whom she wed in Las Vegas in 2008. The couple split in February 2009 but were not officially divorced until April 2011. Second time lucky, Peaches.

On to Caroline Morahan; she got married in Italy to her fellah Daithi O'Caoimh in Tuscany. She was draped in Kathy de Stafford, he was clad in Louis Copeland, and an estimated 110 guests got on down for three days at a 17th Century Villa in Siena. Nice.

Finally, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. This time around ('cause they got married in secret before, you see), they got married yesterday at Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Florence Welch banged out three songs for the newlyweds at the reception, which took place in a large white marquee on the plantation, while they also hired a DJ to entertain the revellers.

Speaking of her ideal partner during a recent interview, Blake said: "He needs to be my best friend, whether he's macho or sensitive - it doesn't matter. He also has to make me laugh. I enjoy someone who's a lot of fun to be with. He also needs to be kind, patient, caring and not take himself too seriously. And of course, he needs to appreciate my cooking! I'm very domestic."

Presumably she honed this check list after dating Leonardo DiCaprio for quite some time.

Getting married next week: Ryan's former wife Scarlett Johansson and Jared Leto. They were spotted holding hands at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte in North Carolina last Thursday.
