Jim Carrey gave a very strange interview at a red carpet event for New York Fashion Week this weekend that has many people alternately confused, pleasantly surprised and even concerned.

The actor was interviewed by E! News’ Catty Sadler and things got almost immediately awkward when he began by circling the interviewer rather strangely. He then talked about the 'meaningless' of the event saying: “There's no meaning to any of this. So I wanted to find the most meaningless thing that I could come to and join and here I am.”

When Sadler quipped that the event is to celebrate icons, he said: “I don’t believe in icons. I believe in personalities. But there is a wonderful fragrance in the air.”

He went on to say “I believe that peace lies beyond personalities, beyond invention and disguise, beyond the red 'S' you wear on your chest, that makes bullets bounce off” before concluding the interview saying “here’s the thing - it’s not our world. That’s the key. We don’t matter. That’s the good news.”

It’s an odd one for sure but maybe he’s just being his regular quirky self?
