Musical numbers on live TV are hard enough to pull off when your feet are on the ground let alone when there's wire work involved.

James Corden and Kristen Bell attempted to perform an aerial duet of Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes's 'Up Where We Belong' on the former's show Tuesday night, but they just couldn't seem to get in sync.

The pair went up and down but never at the same time, always just missing each other. It wasn't until the song was about to conclude that they managed to find each other in the air, only for Bell to be lowered down after the song while Corden was still stuck in the air.

"That was an absolute disaster. Who was responsible for this? We rehearsed it and rehearsed it and rehearsed it," Corden ranted afterward.

The "absolute disaster" was clearly very well rehearsed. If not then Corden deserves an Emmy just for keeping his composure in that performance alone.
