Watch: Jake Gyllenhaal had the worst audition ever for 'Lord of the Rings'

If you're asking, we do think he has a certain Hobbit-ish quality to him...

Jake Gyllenhaal was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night getting up to all sorts but shared his story of his worst audition which is enjoyable for no other reason than watching him tell it.

And not only did Gyllenhaal tell Fallon about an absolutely atrocious 'Lord of the Rings' audition, but also a tremendous failure in trying to get 'Dude, Where's My Car?'.

And when he wasn't busy telling Fallon about all the roles he failed to get, he was spitting food and drink (and precious Prosecco) in his face as part of a ridiculous sketch about their fictional cop show from the '80s "where the situations tended to get a bit messy". And "messy" is an understatement.
