The Young singer is miffed at the criticism she has received over her relationship with Newcastle United footballer Danny Simpson and as taken to Twitter to stipulate that she's going to live her her life how she wants to.

And Tulisa is adamant she isn't going to "shut up" and is prepared to tackle her detractors - who include Danny's ex-girlfriends Stephanie Ward, who is pregnant with his second child and mother to his 18-month-old daughter Skye, and Krystal Benjamin - head on.

Her series of tweets started with her saying: "They want me 2 shut up... be a lifeless robot that plays their shallow media games. be everything that's expected. a shadow of my former self... Not say what I think, feel or know, in the fear that they might destroy me 4 it. Any1 can write a twisted story, but it takes serious balls... To b this much in the public eye & scrutinised & still be myself. COMPLETELY!If u think u know me from what u read, u know nothin at all. So my message 4 the haters n the negative media is as 4 shuttin up. NEVER GUNA HAPPEN!!! that's what makes me tulisa! SO U CAN ALL BITE ME! (sic)"

Well, if you put yourself on a platter, they will. There's a lot to be said for a dignified silence. Don't give them the ammo, and what not.

She continued: "N my message 4 my fans, supporters n ndubletts is ... THANK U. U KEEP ME ALIVE! don't live a lie 4 any1 no matter they say, stay true 2 urself! #REALPEOPLE #REALLIFE #REALSTORIES (sic)"

After posting her stream of combative tweets, Tulisa ended her tweets on yet another positive note.

She wrote: "Rant over. on with the day, feeling good 2 ; ) 'dougies' x (sic)"

Tulisa recently started dating Danny and although they have fallen for each other they are said to be taking things "slowly". Which is why they've essentially gone public already. If you want a lesson on how to take things slowly, take a leaf out of Catherine Tate and Adrian Chiles' book. Seemingly they were dating for six months before they started canoodling in public parks. Then again, neither of them are expecting a child by anyone else.
