How can something be alarming, depressing and unsurprising all at the same time? OK, first things first, apologies for the presence of this story. It's unfortunately trending all over the shop at the moment and therefore can't be ignored.

This is Josie Cunningham, AKA the British 'glamour model' and 'wannabe celebrity' who came to fame for managing to get her £4,800 boob job paid for by the NHS. Since making headlines, she got herself pregnant, a state which she was willing to reverse as there were rumours Big Brother were interested in her going into the house. She then decided to keep the baby - and is now selling ringside seats for the birth for thousands of pounds.

That wasn't the original plan, however. Nay, the original plan involved her obtaining a deal with a poundshop to sell the DVD of the birth. That however fell through. Can't imagine why.

Speaking via The Mirror, Josie said: "I was gutted when the DVD deal was pulled - I was set to make thousands and wanted to share the precious experience. I realised the next best thing would be to sell tickets of me giving birth at home. I've had a bit of interest already. I'm selling two tickets at £5k each and two at £10k, which are VIP. All tickets will include travel and accommodation (probably in her front room) and the pricier ones will entitle the ticket holder to film the birth and take photos. I'll use the money to pay back the NHS for my surgery and will spend the rest on my kids."

In case you're wondering, Josie already has two kids (which she takes to school by taxi on account of her fame. According to The Daily Mail: "She started receiving the £6,000-a-year state-funded transport after complaining about the 'negative attention' she receives on public transport") and is therefore a dab hand at the whole labour/birth thing, so ticketholders such as 29-year-old Paul Mills-Ash will be dealing with a pro.

Paul, who's spending his life savings to be at the birth, said: "I've followed Josie's career since she first came into the public eye. I'm using my savings to buy a £5k ticket. It's a lot of money but it's worth it. It'll be great to say I was at the birth in years to come."

If you were thinking of snapping up a ticket yourself, they've sadly all sold out.

The. Mind. Boggles.
