If this had happened in 2016, we'd be able to say it was the biggest presidential slip-up we've ever seen. Unfortunately, 2017 has delivered us a lot worse.

Jay Z was inducted into America's Songwriters Hall of Fame this week and to mark the occasion, friend and former President Barack Obama made a tribute to him via a video in which Obama highlighted the similarities between the two.

"I like to think that Mr. Carter and I understand each other," he said. "Nobody who met us as younger men would have expected us to be where we are today. We know what it’s like to not have a father around; we know what it’s like not to come from and to know people who didn’t get the same breaks we did, so we try to prop open those doors of opportunity so it’s a little easier for those who come up behind us to succeed as well."

It was then that the former President made a potential slip when talking about Jay and wife Beyoncé's soon-to-arrive twins.

"Jay and I are also fools for our daughters," Obama said. "Although, he’s going to have me beat once those twins show up."

Now this could have just be simply a poorly written or misspoken way of acknowledging the fact that Jay's family is about to outsize Obama's but that hasn't stopped the internet from being convinced that Barack just revealed that Beyoncé is having twin girls as that's the only way he'd have him "beat".

Watch Obama's speech below and judge for yourself.
