In case you were thinking that Steven Seagal being a close, personal friend of Vladimir Putin or being banned from Ukraine for posing a threat to national security wasn't strange enough already, the self-described Zen Master and star of Under Siege 2: Dark Country is now promoting cryptocurrency.

Specifically, Seagal is now the brand ambassador for a new cryptocurrency called Bitcoiin - that's right, Bitcoin with an extra 'i' - which is on the Ethereum blockchain. In 2017, the Financial Times claimed that Ethereum was being used by criminals for Ponzi schemes, and when you look at some of the marketing material for the cryptocurrency that Seagal is hawking, it definitely doesn't look shady at all.

That's not a pyramid at all, folks.

If you thought that wasn't funny enough already, here's an actual blurb from the press release for the cryptocurrency.

"As a Buddhist, Zen teacher, and healer, Steven lives by the principles that the development of the physical self is essential to protect the spiritual man. He believes that what he does in his life is about leading people into contemplation to wake them up and enlighten them in some manner. These are precisely the objectives of the Bitcoiin2Gen to empower the community by providing a decentralized P2P payment system with its own wallet, mining ecosystem and robust blockchain platform without the need of any third party."

Ah-huh. Sure. OK.
