Sinead Desmond splits from husband

In news nobody asked for, it's been announced (via her agent) that Ireland AM's Sinead Desmond has split up with her husband of four years David Ryan. A statement from Noel Kelly Management reads "On behalf of Sinead Desmond and David Ryan, it is with regret that after six years together Sinead Desmond and David Ryan have decided to end their marriage of four years." 

It continues: "There is no-one else involved. David is a wonderful guy and we are still great friends, this is a private and personal matter and we hope you respect our privacy at this time", in a statement released to the press. Because that's how you keep things private and personal. The couple apparently split five months ago, with Sinead keeping the news quiet, while making her daily appearances on TV screens around the country on Ireland AM. The pair met when Desmond returned to Ireland to start her TV3 gig, and she got engaged to the professional sailor and businessman in 2008 before the couple married in the south of France in 2009.
