Sean Penn’s debut novel, ‘Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff’, which follows an assassin and serves as a commentary on contemporary American politics, is getting slated by critics.

The actor appeared in a nonchalant interview on Stephen Colbert this week to promote the new book and almost appeared to be high during it.

The book has been described by critics from the likes of The Huffington Post, The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly and The Washington Post, as ‘garbage’, ‘a mess’, ‘crazy’ and ‘angry, unsubtle and seriously bizarre’.

Tweeters have also had their say. The general consensus? It’s just no good.
