Keating's dalliance with the backing dancer is as formulaic as they come.
She remained quiet, until he informed her that he'd trying to make a go of it with the wife. Now that she's been put in her box, she's reportedly starting the trickle of bile which will probably pour forth for an eternity.
26-year-old Francine Cornell is now spilling to "friends" (not directly to newspapers, that would be uncouth) about their affair, inferring she was duped into believing that Ronan's marriage with Yvonne was on its way out. Said loose lipped cohorts are spouting such things as "She honestly believed the marriage was over and they were going to be together. That's what he led her to believe" to The Star.
The paper reports: "In recent weeks, she got in touch with high-profile PR guru Max Clifford who stated she doesn't want to talk about the relationship. Clifford said: 'She phoned me for advice and guidance. I've spoken to her two or three times since and explained how it works... She wanted my help to stop all these so-called friends (please see above) coming out with 'she says this' and 'she says that' when she hadn't said any of it. The main thing has been to curb the excesses of the media and particularly the so-called friends who have been saying all kinds of things, which are totally untrue'."
Things like "She honestly believed the marriage was over and they were going to be together, That's what he led her to believe", which The Star's front page news is based on? How confusing.
Anyway, to save further heartache and confusion for deludeds everywhere, I'm considering getting posters printed up with the following text:
"Attention desperate 20-something backing dancers/other: Only a minuscule percentage actually leave their spouses for the bit on the side. You're nowt but an hors d'œuvre for their ego. A conduit to let the nation know they're still desirable. A catalyst to bring the spark back into their marriage. Cop yerselves on."
