Robert Pattinson: Goodbye neck biting, hello threesomes.

Considering how safe The Twilight Saga played it, it's good to see R-Patz finally taking on something a bit saucier, now that his time on the teen franchise is almost up. No more half hour lead ups to awkward kisses for this Hollywood heart throb, now he's in the big league; now he's having threesomes. (OK, not in real life, that we know of, just in his latest movie Cosmopolis). What's even better is hearing him taking a refreshing stance on the issue of sensitivity when it comes to explicit sexual material in movies, as per The Sun.

With the release of his latest flick just around the corner, this week Pattinson has made the very apt point that most teenagers have already been exposed to sexual material on the internet. Material that they've chosen to seek out themselves that's well beyond reach of parental control. Why, R-Patz wants to know, are we OK with extreme violence in movies rated for kids but we're not OK with a bit of how's your father?

"You're immediately at the highest rating with things to do with sex. But you can have violence. It's like, 'What?!' It's completely crazy... I don't think there's anything in Cosmopolis that's particularly... there's nothing bad. I don't think there's anything that would have shocked me when I was 13... Especially when every single kid nowadays probably watches hardcore pornography on the internet. It's no worse - in fact, it's a lot better," said Pattinson.

Maybe, as R-Patz suggests, if we weren't so hyper-sensitive to a *whipsers* sex in movies, if we reconsidered the high ratings we put on movies with a little *whispers again* sex, the young'uns wouldn't be so eager to lock themselves in their rooms with the nearest laptop and a list of popular porn sites. Just a thought.

Director David Cronenberg isn't at all worried about how this movie will be received: "I'm not worried about the violence or the sex or anything like that... Transformers is more violent than Cosmopolis."

Anyone remember about 6 years, TV3 airing a movie at around 9am with a full force sex scene? And when i say full force, think Basic Instinct, not a Bond sex scene. After the scene, the movie took a break and never came back, lol. That's how the world works these days. Very little care is shown when it comes to sex or nudity. I went to Titanic 3D a few weeks back and was shocked by the amount of young children there, i remember thinking "Someone really should cover that little guy's eyes during this (Kate Winslet nude scene), he's about 6 years old!". And in fairness to R-Patz (???), some of the scenes in Twilight were quite heavy for a teenage movie. Especially to me, as someone who never watches porn...
