Somebody really ought to start telling these celebrities that getting engaged and tattoos dedicated to your partner five minutes into a relationship may not be the brightest idea.

Ariana Grande (25) and Pete Davidson (24) have learned that the hard way with the parted couple now muddling their way through a break-up following a whirlwind romance. The pair have been going out since May of this year, but announced their engagement as recently as June, but called it quits last week with reports saying that Grande and the 'Saturday Night Live' comedian "still have love for each other, but things are over romantically".

Davidson has now broke his silence on the break-up while taking part in a charity comedy show run by Judd Apatow in Hollywood. Speaking about the tattoos he got in tribute to Grande, he told the audience: "Um, I've been covering a bunch of tattoos, that's fun. I'm f***ing 0 for 2 in the tattoo [department].

"Yeah, I'm afraid to get my mom tattooed on me, that's how bad it is."

"So, obviously you know I, we broke up or whatever but when me and her first got engaged we got tattoos," he continued. "And it was like in a magazine like, 'Was Pete Davidson stupid?' And 93% of it said yes.

"So my boy, he was like, 'Don't listen to that s*** man. They're literally f***ing haters.' And I'm like, yeah, f*** that. I'm not stupid. And the other day we were in my kitchen and he was like, 'Yo bro. Turns out you were stupid'."

He added, "Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?"

Grande will no doubt also be seeking some removals or amendments to her tattoos about Davidson and at the moment she is apparently covering them with a plaster.

The singer has yet to publicly comment on the break-up but is currently busy preparing for the Wicked 15th Anniversary Special on October 29th where she will perform "The Wizard and I" as Elphaba.
