The Sun ran a charming story today about how Paul Weller and David Bowie have finally made friends after much ado about nought which lasted but a few decades. Seemingly Weller, a notoriously antsy sort (he only gobbed on a portrait of Sting when in the Royal Albert Hall not so long ago, shocking), used to strut around referring to Bowie's musical legacy as "pish". Two words for you, Paul, those being 'Style' and 'Council'. Although, you could retort with 'Tin' and 'Machine'. That aside; it would appear that Paul's copped himself on, admitting as much in this month's edition of Mojo. Seemingly Bowie read the interview and was moved to pen Paul a thank you email, which ended with "Nice one, Paul. Can I have my haircut back now?" He also enclosed a snap shot of himself rocking the "Weller" locks in the 1960s.

So, what exactly did Paul say in the interview? "I'm a born-again Bowie freak! The next time he sees me I’ll have a f****** great Aladdin Sane flash on me boat race!" OOooOohh, I say, love a duck! That'd kick him right in the chim chimineys, that would! After Paul expelled enough cockney rudimentaries to remind people he's street, he also managed to say: "Low's one of my favourite records anyway. Whatever gripes I've had about Bowie in the past, Low's been a constant since I bought it in 1977." Well done, my son.
