Patrick Stewart can finally leave those 'Engage!' jokes behind him, as has tied the knot with Sunny Ozell.

The 73-year-old British actor posted a picture of himself with the 35-year-old jazz singer in a kids multi-coloured ball pit yesterday with the caption: 'Yes, married'. Why? We have no idea, but they seem happy about it so we'll let it fly.

A spokesperson for Professor X confirmed to the Huffington Post that the couple, who got engaged in March, were married over the weekend. Patrick began dating Sunny, who is based in Brooklyn, New York, in 2009 after meeting her while performing in 'Macbeth' at the city. Patrick's close friend and 'X-Men' co-star Ian McKellen previously revealed he was going to officiate the wedding in Massachusetts.

He told 'The Jonathan Ross Show' in March: 'I am going to marry Patrick. Well, no -- how else do you put that? I am going to officiate at his wedding.' Asked how he's legally qualified to preside over the couple's nuptials, McKellen replied, laughing: 'I don't know. But in Massachusetts, or in the middle of America somewhere, you get a friend along, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. I've done it once before, with two guys having a civil partnership. I was crying my eyes out.'

Patrick was previously married to Sheila Falconer for 24-years until 1990, with whom he has two children, Daniel and Sophia. He was also married to 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' producer Wendy Neuss for three years until 2003.
