Apparently he's being headhunted by FM104's programme director, Dave Kelly. Why not, he's been coasting through life career wise on a magic carpet being propelled by angel wings, pixie dust, and Shane and Mark's vocals so far.
Of sharing a booth with Jim Jim Nugent, and presumably the other fellah, from dawn's crack, Kelly said to The Metro Herald: "Down through the years, we at FM104 (subtle plug, plug, plug) have had a very amicable relationship with Westlife and especially Nicky, seeing as he's a local lad... It's unfortunate that Nicky will soon be out of a job, and given his obvious popularity with Dubliners, a move to work for us would be an ideal platform for him to pursue a new career. I think DJ Nicky B has a ring to it."
It could be a handy little earner for him between Childline Concert presenting gigs, you know, if himself and Georgina Ahern somehow manage to find themselves short of cash... Otherwise, there's always Tubridy's inevitably vacant Late Late presenting gig to gun for.
Again, why not? Nicky Byrne's easy on the eye and not without charm. He's also not Brendan O'Connor.
