More sad news this morning. One Direction's Niall Horan has spent the last 24 hours grieving the death of one of his best pals who was killed in a car crash on the Mulingar to Killucan road at midday on Saturday. Quentin Reilly who was also from Niall's hometown of Mullingar died tragically in hospital due to injuries incurred following a single vehicle smash.

As per The Sun, there were three young men involved in the crash. The other two who are also friends of Niall's - Scott Hogan and Lee Scally - still remain in hospital. One of the boys unfortunately remains in a critical condition, while the other is said to have suffered non life-threatening injuries.

As for Niall Horan, he was in the middle of performing with One Direction at the V Festival in Essex when he was given this very sad news. Horan took to Twitter to express his sadness: "Hope the lads make a full recovery, also Quentin will be missed. Thoughts with the Reilly family at this time."

Many of his fans have since taken to the social media outlet to share their condolences. One fan tweeted "So so sorry to hear about that. I can only imagine..."  while another said: "Pray for Niall and his friends and their families."

One Direction devotees have even gone so far as to set up a hashtag: #StayStrongNiall, telling him: "Please dont be sad."

The exact cause of the crash is as yet unknown. Gardaí are asking for those who may have witnessed the crash to come forward with any details that might help their enquiry.
