NME Awards Gallery: Florence, Whitmore, Kate Moss, Marina Diamandis, Noel Gallagher...
As ever, Kate Moss enjoyed a few bevs at last night's NME Awards. Fair play to organisers for managing to lure in such a rock star luminary given the recent reports in The Guardian suggesting that the NME, after 60 years of print, is no longer shining beacon of validity it once was.
Among last night's guests, The Enemy (remember them? He's looking a little bloated now, innee), Ricky off the Kaiser Chiefs, Fergal Sharkey, Annie Mac dressed as 1991, Florence Welch dressed as 1971, The Horrors, Laura Whitmore, Katy B, Carl Barat, Bez, Tali Lennox, Tim Minchen, Marina Diamandis, the most recent cast from Skins, and others...
Those who performed at the O2 Academy include Kasabian, who broke out into The Monkee's theme tune during their set (they also dedicated their award to Davy Jones). Noel Gallagher also banged out a few tunes, and thanked his fans for buying merch during his acceptance speech for Godlike Genius ("I'd like to start by saying to all the people up there who bothered to buy a ticket, a CD, or a T-shirt because that's what ****ing counts the merchandise, thank you"). Justin Bieber, who won Worst Album for Under the Mistletoe and Villian of The Year was not in attendance. Happy Birthday, Justin.
