The Home Alone actor has been keeping himself busy anyway.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Culkin retained a sort of ambiguity regarding his use of recreational drugs in the past: ‘I was not pounding six grand of heroin every month or whatever. The thing that bugged me was tabloids wrapping it all in this weird guise of concern.’

Whatever the reality of the situation, Culkin has been involved in an eclectic mix of projects as of late, most recently becoming a roadie for friend Adam Green of the Moldy Peaches, and Har Mar Superstar.

He says, ‘Home is where my boots are. I’m a big fan of jumping on people’s tourbuses, making myself useful, doing load-ins and outs. I do everything except the merch table.’

The actor has also appeared in an amusing, self-referential Compare the Market ad, which can be seen here:

But aside from that, he is sticking to his ‘retirement’ from acting, which he announced earlier this year.

Another project of the former child star earlier this year was a surreal stoner production of Aladdin (also by Adam Green), the trailer for which can be viewed here:

The latest news for his pizza-themed Velvet Underground parody band (Yes, it is still a thing) is that they’re making an album – it will feature a children’s choir and symphony orchestra.

Culkin expressed to the Guardian how he detested being in the limelight of the paparazzi in the past but now feels ‘very much at peace’ with his work and where he is. The writer even described him as ‘unscrewed-up’, isn’t that nice?
