As the race for The White House heats up, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will need to get a war chest of cash to compete with each other in the so-called 'Battleground States'.

With Hillary slightly ahead in the national polls after the Democratic Convention, it's only going to get more intense as the media focus continues to analyse the candidates.

While Trump won't (bloody) likely be able to hit up the Hollywood elite for dosh (unless Scott Baio has a hedge fund we don't know about), Clinton has a strong base of support on the West Coast and one of the biggest names in movies, Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio, is hosting a lunch to raise money for her campaign.

According to Variety the price of that lunch goes up to $33,400. DiCaprio is hosting the grub-grab at his gaff and the assumption is Hillary would also give a speech - thanking everyone for their general support and for coughing up.

There will be other events while Clinton is in town, with celebrities falling over themselves to hand over cash; Variety saying tickets start at $2,700 per person, going to $27,000 for "co-host level" and $100,000 for "host." Apparently you get a picture afterwards which is sound of her.

Meanwhile, Trump is just a normal guy on his private jet having a bit of fried chicken.
