This is The Sun's top story today, folks, the top story in The Sun today... Katie Price has split from her fiance Leandro Penna. And there we thought it was forever.

The 34-year-old star - who got engaged to the 27-year-old Argentine model last April after dating for almost two years since meeting him at the Oscars in 2011 - has confirmed they have amicably parted ways but insists X Factor contestant Dan Ferrari-Lane (one of the clones from District3, he's 18) had nothing to do with their split at all at all.

In a statement on her website, Katie said: "Leo and I have had a lovely fun time for a couple of years, we will always feel deep affection for each other, but sometimes relationships just run their course... Pressures of work on different continents, natural demands of family ties, and careers, have meant we have spent a huge amount of time apart even when we were in the same country. This meant it was difficult for the relationship to move forward." Not to mention the glaring language barrier.

The twice married model/author/entrepreneur/gland conduit - who attended the premier of the new James Bond movie Skyfall just hours before announcing the split (in a Vegas streetwalker meets Dancing On Ice ensemble) - dismissed rumours linking her to 19-year-old District3 member Dan as "ridiculous" and branded the timing of her split from Leandro as a "coincidence."

She insisted her interactions with Dan, whom she is said to have been sending flirty texts, have been "entirely innocent and platonic." And not at all a way to promote something she has to plug (hence the split announcement and the premiere attendance).

Katie, who was previously married to Peter Andre and Alex Reid, said she will stay firm friends with her ex-fiance, saying: "We really wish each other nothing but the very best and will remain best of friends, whoever he eventually settles down with will be a very lucky girl."

Might be an option, Chantelle?
