And, in turn, Leah Remini responds to Holmes' statement by saying "It almost makes me want to cry..." More on that momentarily. While speaking out against The Church of Scientology during her recent 20/20 interview, King of Queens actress Lean Remini had this to say regarding an encounter she had with Tom Cruise when he'd just started dating Katie Holmes (and we all remember just how excited he was about that).

Speaking in the interview, Remini said she was reprimanded by the church for making a remark about a Cruise-related PDA: "He was like, forcibly kissing Katie. And I said, 'Hey, get a freaking room.' And uh, well, I was written up for that." Seemingly Remini was in Cruise's home at the time, as she was there to give him a salsa lesson. True story.

Holmes, who has never spoken out about the church, despite separating from Cruise some years back, felt the need to release the following one line statement: "I regret having upset Leah in the past and wish her only the best in the future."

According to reports, Holmes was scheduled to be interviewed for Remini's 20/20 special. Remini, who had Katie's statement read out to her during a Good Morning America interview this morning had this by way of a response: "I'm smiling because it almost makes we want to cry. I makes me emotional because at the time that Katie and this particular crew were writing reports, it caused me a ot of time and pain in my family, being reprogrammed. So at the time I was fighting with her - I guess for lack of a better word - within the church, and now I know really what she was going through. At the time I was thinking of myself and my family and what we were going through. Although painful, I had no idea she was going through probably a lot more."

Meanwhile, Kirstie Alley has retweeted a post made by fellow Scientologist Jenna Elfman, which reads...

And if that weren't enough...
