Erm, isn't this a little tacky? We expected Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel to keep quiet about their nuptials, given that they didn't tell anybody where or when they'd officially tie the knot. We found out on Friday evening from Perez Hilton who's just got eyes and ears in every corner of the globe. The pair wed in a discreet ceremony in Puglia, Italy with their close friends and family in attendance. What we didn't expect though, was cheesy, self indulgent photocalls on both the cover and on the inside of one of the tackiest magazines of all, People. Is this a joke?
No, apparently not. Where Anne Hathaway earns brownie points for saying she's sending all profits made from her wedding pics to various charity groups, this pair seem happy to have us ogle at their special pics for no apparent reason. We're as interested in celebrity wedding pics as much as the next guy, don't get me wrong, but we really thought JT and Biel would be more keen to keep things to themeslves.
On another note, we can't believe she didn't wear white! While Jessica would look beautiful if she sauntered down the aisle in a black bin liner, this bubblegum pink is a little, eh, Katie Price. The veil is beautiful, her hair and make up are both done to perfection however, where the dress is concerned, we'd envisioned lace and we'd envisioned ivory; we did not envision a high school prom style baby pink dress!
Another thing we find a little less than classy about this affair is that Justin Timberlake took to serenading Jessica with not a romantic, special and personal ode to his wife but rather a rendition of his forthcoming single. You could probably leave the career promotion aside on your wedding day, Justin.
All bitchiness aside, we really do hope they go the distance. The one tip we'd give in order for long lasting celebrity pairings however would be to give tabloid magazines like People a wide berth.
