Jamie Oliver opens restaurant in Dublin. Yeay!

JamieLG

It's Monday, it's sunny, and Jamie Oliver is coming to Dublin. What more could you want? I decided to go through today without any moaning at all and so far, I've had little reason to. This news makes it easy: Jamie Oliver will bring 75 new jobs to Dublin with the opening of the first ever Jamie Oliver restaurant in Ireland.

I'm a big big fan of his barbecue restaurant in London, called Barbecoa, but this one's set to be Jamie's Italian and will be situated in Dundrum Town Centre this autumn.

I'm hungry already!

As reported by the Examiner, senior chefs and managers are already being recruited and all the construction work will take shape swiftly as they turn a 4,500 sq ft unit in the Pembroke area of Dundrum into a homely, atmospheric eatery.

What's more, the world famous chef has sworn he'd work with independent Irish food producers, pumping some much needed mula back into our drained economy. Jamie's Italian International Operations Chef Marcos Georgiou has already been visiting potential farms and factories around the country from which he'll source his meat and veg.

And, melting our hearts altogether, the lovely jubbly Jamie has since said that opening a restaurant in our capital city was a "dream come true". Nawww.
