This weekend saw Kate and Willy buttering sandwiches, baking queen cakes and making endless rounds of tea for the traditional tea-swilling section of their baby’s christening.

Well, their experience may have been a little different from the usual affair but the most important elements were there - baby, christening gown, various family members and a pram the size of a small space ship. It's Silver Cross, natch, and is said to be about 30 years old, so one can only imagine how amazing the turning circle is on it. I doubt it's ever been wheeled around a local shop for fear it would take out half the tinned peaches display.

Thankfully, Pippa Middleton's bottom wasn't the talk of the family event as she seemed to have it firmly under wraps courtesy of a cream pleated dress coat of her own, designed by  Emilia Wickstead. She also sported a lovely Jane Taylor Millinery hat. It was her heels, however, that got some chins wagging due to the sheer height of them. Court shoes they are not... While Kate opted for more understated LK Bennett shoes, Pippa went with Vivienne Westwood.

And then there was the mother-in-law...

Camilla threatened to upstage the princess by doing her Marilyn impression but even she couldn’t compete with the juggernaut that is the chubby cheeks-ness of George.

And those shorts are on our shopping list. As long as they come in adult sizes, like.

You can check out all the pics below. Are you loving Kate's Alexander Wang dress coat as much as us? To hell with it, I think I'll put that on the shopping list too.
