Would you swap out your best friend for George Clooney? If it meant you would get a $1 million then yes, yes you would. Don’t even try to deny it.

George Clooney allegedly gave each of his best friends $1 million to thank them for helping him throughout his career.

Rande Gerber, businessman and husband of Cindy Crawford, revealed this to MSNBC (via NME), detailing how he and 13 others were invited to the actor’s house for dinner back in 2013.

The guests were surprised to find suitcases at their seats around the table, and inside the suitcases were – you’ve guessed it – $1 million (in $20 notes).

Clooney apparently told his friends that it was to “give back” because of “how much [they]’ve meant to [him] and how much [they] mean to [him] in [his] life.” He continued: “I came to LA, I slept on your couch. I’m so fortunate in my life to have all of you and I couldn’t be where I am today without all of you.

“I know we’ve all been through some hard times, some of you are still going through it. You don’t have to worry about your kids, you don’t have to worry about, you know, school, you don’t have to worry about paying your mortgage.”

Gerber claimed that Clooney also paid off all his friends’ taxes for the year and refused to take no for an answer. “One was working at a bar in Texas at the airport, trying just to support his family, rides a bicycle to work every day,” Gerber explained. “I mean these are guys that took care of George and now he’s giving it all back.”

Could we love Clooney more?
