She's not going down without a fight, and that's admirable - from where we're standing anyway.
News came to light last week that the couple had ended their engagement, with the Snow Patrol member moving out of the actresses's LA home about a month ago. It seems they decided to end things as they were fighting all the time, but Courteney isn't taking no for an answer.
A source speaking via Grazia Magazine says: "Things have been rocky for a while. They were arguing over wedding plans, had one almighty row and she asked him to leave. They are both devastated that it has come to this. Courteney has been especially upset and is telling friends it's a trial separation while they figure out how to move forward. She's desperate to have relationship counselling."
The couple, who got together in December 2013 and announced their engagement approximately 6 months later, have reached a "stumbling block" which some may construe as "the hormones have worn off". The source added: "They fell in love extremely quickly. And now it seems that they've reached a stumbling block. Courteney says she loves Johnny and wants to marry him, but she knows deep down they can't plaster over cracks and get hitched without addressing their problems. But she is still hopeful they will get through this, as we all are."
