Whether it's David Beckham's football boots, Jamie Dornan's shorts, or Katy Perry's hair, celebs have been rocking a dash of pink for as long as we can recall. And while we're not usually ones to endorse emulating A-Listers, we've decided to take a leaf out of these celebrities' respective books and use them for 'Pinkspiration' this Breast Cancer Awareness month. Just by donning something pink, you could help raise awareness and save lives in the process. Sounds simple, but it's true.

If you're of the male persuasion and looking for inspiration, look no further than our very own dashing Jamie Dornan, who was seen sporting a ravishing pair of pink shorts only a few weeks back...

Pink shorts aren't just for Ronaldo, you know...

While there's no denying that it's getting a bit nippy for shorts, but you could always sport a pair of pink woolly socks, or follow Real Madrid's lead and don a pink football jersey.

In fact, you can't get away from pink football boots this premiere league season - a look kicked off by David Beckham a few years back...

As for celebs who love to live it large in pink ensembles in various forms, here's looking at Michelle Keegan, Kim Kardashian, Elizabeth Banks and Maisie Williams recent red carpet looks.

You could also rally around your neighbourhood (within the speed limit, of course) in a pink car (it doesn't have to be a Lambo)

Or you could show more of a commitment to the cause by dying your hair pink for a spell. Here are just some of the doos adorning the heads of Julianne Hough, Jessie J, Rita Ora and Katy Perry recently.

How about painting a wall of your house or your front door pink?

Or you could go the whole hog on it altogether!

Don't worry, no on ever has  to go full "Miley" on it, but just be aware that Cancer will touch 1 in 3 of us during our life time, with breast cancer being among the most prevalent form. If by wearing pink, or holding a Paint it Pink event (it's never too late) spurs even one person to check themselves, it could make all the difference. With cancer, timing is everything. Don't forget to "check your set" - know what is normal for you, that way you can spot any changes.

No matter what you end up doing this October, please text the word ‘Pink’ to 50300 to donate €4 to the Irish Cancer Society.
