Ladies, ladies - we're all grown ups, please use your words. "Hands are for holding, not for hitting" and other such mantras bestowed on warring toddlers and - as it turn out - warring supermodels.

According to the New York Post, the "high-fashion fracas" kicked off at Parisian nightclub Castel on Sunday night, where the Garage Magazine party was taking place.

What was it over? Rihanna. Seemingly Naomi believed that 23-year-old Cara was "disrespecting" the singer - who wasn't there at the time. According to sources "Naomi accused Cara of ‘disrespecting’ Rihanna and started yelling, before Naomi pushed Cara, who pushed back". Not only that, "Cara pulled Naomi’s weave, but it didn’t come off."

Apparently "Naomi was angry because she felt Cara had said something negative about Rihanna”... then again, it was very noisy: "It was a noisy and packed party. Naomi was saying all these nonsensical things, she was ranting. There was a messy pushing match. Cara didn’t understand because there’s no problem between her and Rihanna. Cara didn’t want to be involved and was telling Naomi, 'Get away from me!'"

Someone speaking on behalf of Campbell played down the rumoured altercation: "Naomi didn't do anything wrong. We are talking about a very tiny club in Paris with a very busy table - if someone pushes someone, it's because there is no space."

Other guests at the party who managed not to push someone included Dakota Fanning (who was reportedly chatting with Naomi at the time), Lily Donaldson, Bianca Brandolini and Lauren Santo Domingo.

Reps for both Naomi and Cara declined to comment when contacted by the New York Post last night.
