The Oscars are the undisputed backslapping fest of the year, but this is ripping the mick something shocking. Given the level of cheese on display, it does of course involve Oprah Winfrey.
The planet's biggest chat show host invited Halle Berry, Penlope Cruz, James Cameron, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Michael Douglas and Glenn Close schmooze each other on her 'Oprah Oscar Special.' Cue much "You were great in blah..." "Noooo, YOU were much better in that other thing... KISSES!"
The attractive coupling of Berry and Cruz curled up on some couches ('cause they're just so damn comfortable with each other), as did Saldana, Worthington (who looked partially constipated by the experience, probably because there were cameras present and he didn't have his girlfriend perched beside him), Weaver and Cameron. Close and Douglas reunited for a cosy chat on the studio audience chairs (so cosy that Michael thought he'd cop a couple of feels), while Ben Affleck interviewed Jeremy Renner in some... deserted nearby Italian eatery?
Ben tried tempting Jeremy to the "two portions, one bowl" spagball deal, but he declined. He's watching his carb intake before Sunday's ceremony.
