It's not every day one of the leading industry bibles in the film industry turns up in the North side of Dublin - specifically Summerhill - for an interview.

It's rarer still for an interview with said industry bible to start off with an actor making a specific, pointed reference to Dublin 1. Yet, that's exactly what happened with Barry Keoghan's interview with the vaunted Hollywood Reporter. In the opening paragraphs of their Next Big Thing segment in the upcoming issue of the magazine, Keoghan wanted the journalist to specifically point out that he's from Dublin 1.

As well as this, a film crew from THR was in Summerhill last week to interview Keoghan in his home turf.

Of course, anyone who's seen Keoghan in Love / Hate or last year's excellent Mammal shouldn't be in the least bit surprised by all of this - nor should they be surprised about him turning up in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk or Yorgos Lanthimos' The Killing Of A Sacred Deer with Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell. He's easily one of the most talented actors working in Ireland today, and his filmography is only going to increase in the coming years.

He's a long way from killing cats, in fairness.
