Having just had a baby, Anne Hathaway was in need of some body positivity, and her co-stars on 'Ocean’s 8', Rihanna, Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, were nice enough to give her the boost she needed.

Hathaway was on The Ellen Show today to chat about the upcoming spin-off from Steven Soderbergh’s Oceans trilogy.

The film has a fabulous cast which aside from the aforementioned actresses includes Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Dakota Fanning and Awkwafina.

Hathaway talked about how the all-female set was a “huge love fest”, adding “There’s this terrible rumour going around that women can’t get along and, man, did we just murder that rumour. We just loved each other so much. It was so special.”

She also talked about it being her first movie after giving birth to her son.

She told Ellen: “One of the lucky things about being in this business for so long is that I’ve really kind of come to terms with the pressure that you get to look a certain way as an actress and I don’t beat myself up about any of that stuff anymore. But after I had my son, the weight was really slow to come off and so I was a different size than I normally am.

“The director told me, ‘That’s great, we have eight women in this movie. We need to have as many body types up there as we can,’ which I was really relieved to hear.”

She talked about walking onto the set on the first day, dressed in jeans having done the best to make herself up. While Sandra Bullock told her, ‘Looking good, mama!’ and Cate Blanchett said ‘Nice jeans, Hathaway!’, the best compliment came from Rihanna.

“[She] looks up and goes, ‘Damn girl, you got a ass!’ And I of course freaked out and loved it so much. I was like, ‘Really?!’ And she goes, ‘You got a ass like me!’”

‘Ocean’s 8’ is released in Irish cinemas on June 18th.
