In managers getting sued news, Johnny Depp's managers aren't the only ones in legal issues.
Alanis Morissette's former manager, Jonathan Schwartz, has plead guilty to embezzling close to $5,000,000 from the singer over the course of seven years. Schwartz wrote an open letter to THR last year, in which he blamed his deeds on a gambling addiction. Schwartz's lawyers also offered a restitution of $8.7 million as well as one year in prison, one in home arrest and 2,000 community service hours to the court, but this deal was rejected by the US Attorney's office - who hit the manager with a six-year prison sentence and $8.6 million in restitution.
Morissette was called to the stand to testify against Schwartz, who said that she trusted him to take care of her finances. However, when she pressed him on details, Schwartz either deflected questions and said that she was being disrespectful. Morissette went on, asking the court to impose a sentence "that sends a crystal-clear message."
