Jesca Hoop
Tom Waits describes Jesca Hoop's music as "like going swimming in a lake at night", which is a slightly odd (if glowing) review from Mr. Waits who has been known to be somewhat hard to please on occasion. Waits had plenty of time to form this opinion too, when you consider the fact that Hoop was the Waits family's live-in nanny for five years. Blessed with a voice with surges from Joni Mitchell to Kate Bush in a heartbeat, Hoop is a stunning live performer, whose latest album 'The House That Jack Built' came out during the summer to a cavalcade of positive reviews and this is a great opportunity to check out the new material in an intimate live setting.
