Will Smith is not exactly a man who suffers from low self-esteem - in a recent interview, he even predicted that he'll be president one day. It's no surprise, then, that he's severely ticked off with the people who refuse to take him seriously as a rapper. Much of his ninth album features Smith sounding off about this at great length, pointing out that you don't have to be a 'hater' to make good hip-hop music. And to be fair, there's more than enough catchy tunes and crafty rhymes here to prove that he has a point. But there's only so much self-pity from a multi-millionaire you can stomach, and when Smith tries to get political, it's embarrassing - his September 11 song is as bad as anything ever written about the subject, which is really saying something. His self-esteem may be in good shape, but the Fresh Prince badly needs to get his sense of humour back.
