To their many critics, UB40 are the reggae band for people who don't really like reggae. Their massive record sales (50 million albums and counting), however, suggest that the unassuming Brummies must be doing something right. A quarter of a century on from their debut, Who You Fighting For? finds the formula much the same as ever - lilting love songs, the odd political outburst and some unusual choices of covers, in this case including Matumbi and the Manhattans. It should all be sounding at least a little tired by now - but somehow it all works a treat, largely because Ali Campbell's vocals are as warm and smooth as ever. Who You Fighting For is a breezy, tuneful and thoroughly pleasant album. It's just not very exciting.
