Flattery will get you everywhere. The Mitchell Brothers are the first signing to Mike Skinner's new record label - hardly surprising really, since they sound like nothing so much as a Streets tribute band. All the elements are present and correct: larky tales of London streetlife set to a backing of tinny beats that sound as if they've been made by a Fisher Price keyboard. No marks for originality then - but luckily, Tony and Teddy are such engaging companions that it really doesn't matter very much. Whether they're rapping about trying to make ends meet on the dole, rowing with their girlfriends or the joys of daytime television, they document it all with a beat poetry artfulness and a cockney geezer sense of humour. Skinner himself, meanwhile, makes a couple of lively cameo appearances to give the proceedings his personal seal of approval. A real grower.
