The creation of cynical marketing men or an inoffensive family act who just got lucky? A mixture of both? The debate will go on but it's essentially academic; right now the Corrs are on top of the world and this Best Of is set to round off their extraordinary commercial success in triumphant style. Listening to the hits all in one go, it's hard not to feel that the Dundalk siblings are entitled to at least some credit - after all, unlike the boybands, they can sing and they do play their own instruments. More damning is the fact that their songs have become steadily drearier over the years, with practically all the best tunes here coming from their first album 'Forgiven Not Forgotten'. The obligatory new single 'Would You Be Happier?', meanwhile, suggests that new ideas were in seriously short supply. Beautiful they may well be, but the Corrs' terminal lack of passion makes it hard to care very much about them one way or another.
