Snow Patrol - When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up
Review Date: 12 February 2001
Originally from Belfast but now living in Glasgow, Snow Patrol have been hotly tipped by many as the next Irish indie band to make a real commercial breakthrough. Although they're probably best known for their exuberant blend of power pop their second album has its fair share of quieter moments too. Vocalist Garry Lightbody has a nice line in icy humour and his passionate lyrics lend a real edge to these rather bitter, deeply-felt songs of lost love and missed opportunities. Snow Patrol are not quite the finished article - they've yet to capture their dynamic live performance on record - but this is a massive step in the right direction.
