While Robbie Williams has never exactly made a secret of his monstrous ego, the sheer vanity of his latest project still takes some beating. Swing When You're Winning is a real oddity, a set of jazz standards and swing classics with vocal contributions from acting stars such as Nicole Kidman, Jane Horrocks and Rupert Everett. Whether this kind of thing is really what Robbie's teenage fans want to hear is open to question, but in fairness he makes a decent stab at old reliables such as Mack the Knife and Ain't That A Kick In The Head, and the results are, for the most part, undemanding fun. The only truly horrendous moment is It Was A Very Good Year, which, through the magic of modern technology, allows Robbie to duet with Frank Sinatra himself. In the battle between ol' Blue Eyes and ol' Big Head, there's only ever going to be one winner.
